Tavis Smiley. A Conversation with Councilmembers.

A motion was filed in LA City Council by Harris-Dawson and Price regarding the legality of withholding salary payments to Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas in the wake of his suspension by the LA City Council pending the resolution of litigation brought against him by federal authorities. The motion calls for the City Attorney to report back to the Council in 10 days on the legality of City Controller Ron Galperin’s decision to withhold Ridley-Thomas’s salary.

Both Councilmembers will join Tavis Smiley on Monday for an in-depth discussion to unpack the details.

This conversation has been 10 years in the making. Grateful am I to have Tia Timpson on The Back Story with me tomorrow to discuss her journey to healing from what could have been a life ending stroke. Not only is Tia alive and well, but she’s accomplished some absolutely amazing things since our last sit down on my TV show 10 years ago.

In fact, visit my website www.mischainspires.com to see the video of Tia’s story and then plan to join us as we discuss it all at 1pm PST/4pm EST on @kbla1580.
