Fatima Iqbal-Zubair is political candidate and community organizer, as well as a former public-school teacher, environmental activist and consultant currently running for California State Assembly to represent District 65. An observant hijab-wearing Muslim and immigrant born in Dubai, she is the co-founder of the Tera immigrant Initiative, a non-profit organization that provides STEAM mentoring to underserved youth. On this pod she talks about her experience with anti-Muslim discrimination in the wake of the San Diego Mosque attack. We also look at its impact on our current election.
